Abstract

There is a drastic change in the world of vehicle technology. In the early 1920’s, the first autonomous vehicles were radio-controlled vehicles which are introduced. In subsequent decades, it is seen that autonomous vehicles are being powered by embedded circuits. In 1960’s the major milestone was laid in the field of autonomous vehicle technology wherein electronic guided system came into the picture. Radio guided technology has been developed and today it is being used with a slightly similar or modified forms of this vision. The main requirement of an autonomous vehicle is capable to cover a longer distance in a safer approach. The reduced number of road crashes and traffic congestion was encouraged by this technology, thereby complying with the traffic regulations. This is done without any human interface. In the next technological boom, autonomous vehicles may be used as one of the main means of transportation. The automotive industry is led by the exponential growth of numerous sensors such as Cameras, RADARs, Ultrasonic, LiDARs and Wireless communication. The aim of the autonomous vehicle is to enhance a proper way of communication between vehicles, there by forming a network of connected vehicles to maintain safer journey.
