Abstract

Generally, in the deployment of wireless sensor networks, the process of maintaining the required Quality of Service [QoS] remains as a significant challenge as it is ought to provide the limited energy supplies to its sensor nodes. Whereas, the WSN area is observed as an important tool in supporting the applications ranging from environmental and industrial monitoring to battlefield surveillance and TRAC control. Many routing protocols have been designed based on clustering. This research will work on the implementation and analysis of the two types of LEACH protocol, and make full comparison based on their function, usage, application, network lifetime, and their network performance. The proposed research work has deployed LEACH (low energy adaptive clustering hierarchy) alongwith a hierarchical clustering protocol. The second one is multi-hop LEACH, which uses large zone and further supported by using this protocol in military applications, where sink is observed at the edge of monitored area or farther.
