Abstract
With the development of catalysis technology, the performance requirements for catalysts, such as stability and activity, have increased. Carbon-coated catalysts, with their unique structure and excellent performance, have attracted the attention of many researchers. This paper reviews the preparation methods, performance optimization and application fields of carbon-coated catalysts in recent years, focusing on carbon-coated transition metal catalysts, including preparation techniques such as chemical vapor deposition method, electrochemical method, high-temperature pyrolysis method, etc. and optimization strategies such as surface modification, structure regulation, etc. Meanwhile, this paper summarizes the wide applications of carbon-coated catalysts in oxygen reduction reaction, oxygen evolution reaction, hydrogen reduction reaction, hydrogen oxidation reaction, carbon dioxide reduction reaction, catalytic hydrogenation reaction, Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, CO2 hydrogenation and environmental remediation. Finally, the performance of different metal-coated catalysts was compared, and the problems and future development directions of carbon-coated catalysts were discussed.
