Abstract
Due to increasing requirements to the reliability and safety of the aircraft fuel system, as well as in order to reduce the cost of the system production and maintenance, an important development direction of fuel system is reducing of the number of electrical wires inside the fuel tanks. This article discusses the possibility of using explosion-proof fiber-optic temperature sensors with Fiber Bragg Grating in aircraft fuel systems instead of traditional electrical sensors, such as thermistors and thermocouples. For these fiber-optic sensors the basic relationships of the physical parameters, as well as the possibilities of their implementation in aircraft fuel system is shown.
