Abstract
In this work, a polymer matrix composite with sisal fiber composite is designed, fabricated and tested. The fiber reinforcement is varied in three levels (60%,70% and 80 %). Epoxy resin in used for making the composite with hand layup method. Three samples are prepared at different combinations of sisal fiber (60%, 70% & 80% and resin (40%,30% & 20%). The hardness and tensile behavior was investigated by experimentation additionally and compared with base material. The sisal fiber dispersals were examined mistreatment scanning electron microscope. Further, it had been found from the investigation that the hardness and impact strength significantly accrued compared to base material.
