Abstract

This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: Primary objective 1. To assess the effects of skincare interventions, such as emollients, for prevention of eczema and food allergy in infants. Secondary objectives 1. To ascertain whether active skincare interventions, commenced in early infancy, influence risk of developing eczema or food allergy. 2. To identify features of the study populations such as age, hereditary risk and adherence to the interventions, which are associated with the greatest treatment benefit or harm for both eczema and food allergy.
