Customized CO<sub>2</sub> electroreduction to methane or ethylene by manipulating *H and *CO adsorption on Cu/CeO<sub><i>x</i></sub> catalysts

Abstract
We engineered Cu/CeO x and Cu/CuCeO x solid solutions, enhancing *H and *CO binding in CO 2 RR. Cu/CeO x boosts *H coverage via faster water dissociation, while Cu/CuCeO x augments *CO adsorption, selectively reducing CO 2 to CH 4 or C 2 H 4 .
