Abstract

In the present work, a simple and sensitive cyclic voltammetry, differential pulse voltammetry, and chronoamperometry (CA) glucose sensor was developed at multiwalled carbon nanotubes and tetracinnamide cobalt (II) phthalocyanine (MWCNT-CoTCIDPc) modified GCE. The novel synthesized catalyst confirmed with various spectroscopic techniques. The modified CoTCIDPc/GCE using MWCNTs showed a high electrocatalytic activity and lower potential towards the oxidation of glucose (GOx). The response of GOx was linear over the concentration ranging from (CV 2 - 20; DPV 2 - 12; CA 5 - 50 mM/L), sensitivity for (CV 1.905; DPV 3.483; CA 1.035 mA mM-1 cm-2) and detection limit for (CV 0.9; DPV 5.33; CA 6 mM) (S/N=3). The CVs and DPV techniques display shows the same peak potential (+250 mV). The amperometry response time of the sensor was found as 2 s, the fabricated sensor also exhibited its good selectivity in the presence of common interfering biological species for AA, DA, and UA; besides, the fabricated sensor exhibited its special advantages such as low working potential, sensitivity along with good repeatability and reproducibility for the determination of GOx.
