Abstract

Crystal of o -BrTBE and self-assembled balls of m -BrTBE film show ultra-highly efficient AIE and reversible mechanochromism (MC) properties as obvious anti-heavy atom effects resulting from the formation of intermolecular Br⋯Br bonds.
