Abstract Using a recent verification of the Riemann hypothesis up to height $$3\cdot 10^{12}$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:mrow> <mml:mn>3</mml:mn> <mml:mo>·</mml:mo> <mml:msup> <mml:mn>10</mml:mn> <mml:mn>12</mml:mn> </mml:msup> </mml:mrow> </mml:math> , we provide strong estimates on $$\pi (x)$$ <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>π</mml:mi> <mml:mo>(</mml:mo> <mml:mi>x</mml:mi> <mml:mo>)</mml:mo> </mml:mrow> </mml:math> and other prime counting functions for finite ranges of x .
