Abstract

The construction industry has primarily relied on conventional building practices that focus on high energy demand during the life cycle of a building. Over the years, the rapid consumption of energy has led to serious environmental problems such as deforestation, global warming, pollution, etc. To reduce the energy consumption of a given construction project, it is important to study the energy consumption of buildings during their planning stage. This paper aims to optimize the energy consumption of a building in India using sustainable construction practices under Building Information Modeling (BIM) and tools such as Autodesk® Revit®.
