Abstract

One of the most dynamic sectors adapting to technological innovation is aviation and one of the most progressive technologies today is the Internet of Things. The paper examines how the Internet of Things is being applied in various areas of aviation, including airport process management, airline operations and aircraft maintenance. The aim of the paper is to provide an overview of the possibilities of using the Internet of Things in aviation and to identify the areas where this type of technology has the greatest potential. The paper deals with the analysis of relevant literature from the Web of Science database, first in general in the context of Internet of Things, then the literature analysis for the field of Internet of Things in air transport. The paper identifies major trends and findings in the field.
