Abstract

Internet of Things devices have the capability to ease human life by providing multiple opportunities for sensing and tracking. These devices are frequently embedded with sensors and actuators that allow acquiring the data about the surroundings or carrying out specified tasks. However, security breaches in these devices can convert these opportunities in serious vulnerable situations. IoT is employed in many different industries, but the biggest concerns are security and privacy. The researchers offered a number of solutions to overcome these issues. In this research paper, the focus is kept to evaluate and explore the existing Internet of Things security solutions with IOTA blockchain. IOTA is offered as a blockchain technique for Internet of Things, which is utilized in a variety of areas including automation, smart cities, manufacturing, transportation, healthcare, and agriculture. IOTA is an open-source, decentralized cryptocurrency made specifically for the Internet of Thing that offers fee-free transactions. IOTA is based on tangle that is Directed Acyclic Graph to store chain of transactions. The comparative analysis of latest research work of integrating IOTA with Internet of Things devices to enhance security and privacy in the network is presented in this paper. The research gaps outlined in paper will provide future research directions to the research community to improvise the internet of things communication methodologies.
