Abstract
This paper provides a simulation-based home automation system. The system is designed to be automated and controlled remotely through a cloud system. The proposed system enables the user to monitor and control the home environment including temperature, humidity, and detection of intruders. The system sends alerts via email and text messages to the user's phone for continuous monitoring. The cloud feature helps the user to read the data and control the functionality of different appliances at a home using mobile phone. This affordable system is best suited to remotely monitor and take care of disabled and elderly that are limited in movements.
