Abstract
In this paper the results of developing risk management system in a higher education institution are presented. Specifics of developing a corporate and local risk registers are discussed. A methodology and step-by-step plan of implementing risk management into the strategic activity planning are presented using the example of a polytechnical institute which reveals also the need of education for sustainable manufacturing.
