Abstract
After a basic introduction to the quasilinear theory of electron-cyclotron interaction in a mirror magnetic field, we develop a unified model that describes the formation of a non-thermal electron distribution function under the combined action of resonant plasma heating from external mono- or bi-chromatic waves and kinetic instabilities in the electron-cyclotron frequency range.
