Abstract
With the booming development of electric vehicles, the number of retired power batteries increases year by year. Thus, the echelon-use battery becomes the focus of research. Echelon-use battery can be applied to battery energy storage system (BESS) in power grid, but its energy management strategy (EMS) should be different from ordinary battery. Based on the status of health (SOH) of echelon-use battery, an EMS of hybrid energy storage system (HESS) considering echelon-use battery is proposed in this paper. According to the SOH of each battery pack, the EMS can allocate the power according to the SOH of each battery packs, to make the echelon-use battery play the appropriate performance. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulation.
