Abstract
The additive manufacturing technologies develop very fast in recent years. However, we still face the problem of lacking online feedback for the system, and the reliability and robustness need to be improved. In this paper, we propose the concept of parallel additive manufacturing systems, which combine the parallel manufacturing with the additive manufacturing. Furthermore, we present how to use the artificial systems-computational experiments-parallel execution approach to make the 3D printers intelligent, in order to handle uncertainties and unexpected conditions.
