Abstract

Abstract Biohydrogen production from waste materials presents a sustainable solution for renewable energy generation, addressing both environmental challenges and energy demands. This study focuses on utilizing lignocellulosic biomass and food waste as substrates, optimizing key factors such as substrate selection, inoculum concentration, and pretreatment methods to enhance biohydrogen yield. Novel insights are provided into the impact of physiological conditions, including pH (6.0 ± 0.2) and temperature (37°C), on microbial activity. Results demonstrate significant improvements in biohydrogen yield, highlighting the potential for industrial scalability and economic viability. This work emphasizes biohydrogen as a clean energy carrier, contributing to sustainable development and waste management solutions.
