Abstract

secomoretanes/secohopanes are affected by the maturity. We hypothesize that the reducing environments and thermal effects are important markers for the hopanoid transformation, including the incorporation of inorganic sulfur in substituting functional groups, cyclizing, aromatizing, and opening ring C of the hopanoids.
