Abstract
This letter presents a biomedical antenna system for wireless communication of ingestible capsule endoscopes. The antenna system comprises an implantable antenna for in-body use and a wearable antenna for external applications. The implantable antenna is optimized for miniaturization and bandwidth expansion, conforming to the shape of the capsule. The wearable antenna can perform communication with both the implantable antenna and external distant devices. The antenna system was fabricated, and its performance was verified through measurements. Additionally, the radiation performance of the antennas, along with safety considerations and link budget analysis, were meticulously examined. The findings indicate that the proposed antennas offer promising capabilities for wireless capsule endoscopy systems.
