If the pyroclastic products of fragmentation are deposited hot, they can stick, coalesce, and weld together, re-amalgamating into coherent magma. Subaerial deposits include welded, lava-like, and rheomorphic ignimbrites (Branney et al. 1992; Andrews and Branney 2011), and welded fall deposits proximal to an eruptive vent (Houghton and Carey 2015). Welding occurs in the sub-surface at conduit margins (Gardner et al. 2017; Wadsworth et al. 2020...
