Abstract
Abstract In this paper, we described the synthesis of 3‐[(1H‐benzimidazol‐2‐ylsulfanyl)(aryl) methyl]‐4‐hydroxy‐2H‐chromen‐2‐one derivatives by one‐pot three‐component reaction between 4‐hydroxycoumarin, substituted aldehydes and 2‐mercaptobenzimidazole in the presence of L‐proline as a catalyst. The structures of the synthesized compounds were characterized by FT‐IR, NMR and Mass spectral data. Further, the synthesized compounds were screened for antimicrobial and antioxidant activities. Molecular docking studies were also carried out to know the inhibitory effect of the synthesized compounds against pathogens.
