Abstract

1 This study is carried out to study the engineering properties of soft rocks having uniaxial compressive strength about 10 to 100 kg/cm2. Recently measurement of elastic wave velocity becomes useful method to estimate Young’s modulus and compressive strength of concrete and rock as non-destructive method. In order to confirm the relations among uniaxial compressive strength, propagation velocity of elastic waves and density, many soft rocks are tested.
