A Survey of TCP Congestion Control Algorithm

Abstract

With the rapid development of the Internet, various Internet based applications have emerged, and the data traffic on the Internet has increased dramatically. Network congestion has become a core problem in the field of network research. Appropriate congestion control (CC) can alleviate network congestion problems. Due to the complexity of the congestion, congestion control is a very difficult problem. The existing control scheme still cannot effectively solve the congestion problem. This article introduces some important congestion control algorithms in TCP, and points out the advantages and disadvantages of these algorithms through comparison. Moreover, we propose some potential improvements for further research.
