Abstract
Higher-order fuzzy logic systems, like type-3 fuzzy logic systems, are gaining wide popularity in recent years. One of the main reasons for this is the ability to manage complex uncertainties and improve decision-making across various domains. Several applications of interval type-3 fuzzy logic systems have emerged in the recent years in the domain of robotics, power and control, classification and prediction etc. In this paper, we will present recent studies employing type-3 fuzzy logic systems. We focus on the theoretical advances of type-3 fuzzy sets and their intersection and union operations. In addition, we investigate the numerous applications of type-3 fuzzy logic systems. With ongoing research and technological advancements, these systems are poised to play an increasingly important role in the development of intelligent systems and applications.
