Pyridazinium based ionic liquids as green corrosion inhibitors: An overview

Abstract
Abstract Increasing ecological awareness and stringent environmental regulations has resulted in development of green and sustainable strategies for prevention of corrosion. One such attractive strategy involves ionic liquids due to their interesting properties such as low volatility, non‐flammability, nontoxic nature, high thermal and chemical stability, and their ability to adsorb on the metallic surface. In the past few years, pyridazinium‐based ionic liquids have been studied for corrosion inhibition. This review gives an update of the research work carried with these ionic liquids toward corrosion inhibition in the past 5 years.
