Abstract
Many drugs are nephrotoxic, affecting the kidneys by different mechanisms. Renal iatrogenicity mainly affects patients with risk factors. Measures to prevent drugs nephrotoxicity include using of non-nephrotoxic drugs whenever possible, dose adjustment if the drug cannot be replaced, avoiding the simultaneous use of several nephrotoxic drugs, correcting the risk factors related to the patient, assessing renal function at the beginning of the treatment and monitoring it during treatment.
