Abstract
The relevance of the study is due to the great significance and laboriousness of the problem of modeling the innovation diffusion in complex economic systems, since the analysis and management of the sustainability of the organization's innovative development is an important decision support tool in developing a competitive strategy. The purpose of this paper is to review the features of using approaches of analytical and simulation modeling in describing economic processes and systems, as well as to consider them from the point of view of studying the materiality of the spatio-temporal characteristics of the process of innovation economic diffusion, and to assess the possibility of modeling approaches used for these tasks. The features of using approaches of analytical and simulation modeling in describing innovative changes in economic systems are described. The research methods are descriptive and analytical. The results of the study allow to single out several areas of economic models for the diffusion of innovations and draw a conclusion about the advisability of using natural-scientific approaches to system dynamics.
