Abstract

Ganoderma, a genus deeply rooted in traditional medicinal practices across diverse Asian cultures throughout history, has garnered renewed attention due to its promising biotechnological potential, particularly its health-enhancing properties. The distinctive characteristics exhibited by various species within the genus Ganoderma render them invaluable for a wide spectrum of applications in both industrial and pharmaceutical contexts. Recent advancements in biotechnological research have unveiled a plethora of captivating opportunities in which Ganoderma plays a pivotal role. These advancements encompass a range of biotechnological applications, including but not limited to enzyme production, extraction of bioactive compounds, bioremediation, bioprospecting, and biodegradation. The involvement of Ganoderma in these areas highlights its versatility and significance in contributing to advancements across multiple sectors. This comprehensive review explores the diverse biotechnological vistas of Ganoderma, offering insights into its multifaceted potential and the impact of its applications.
