Abstract
In this paper, structural and optical properties of PMMA-ZrO 2 nanocomposites doped with silver nanoparticles are investigated. The silver nanoparticles are added to PMMA-ZrO 2 nanocomposites with concentrations of 2, 4 and 6 wt.%. The experimental results show that the absorption coefficient, extinction coefficient, refractive index, dielectric constants, and optical conductivity of PMMA-ZrO 2 nanocomposites are increased, while both the transmittance and the energy band gap are decreased with increase in silvernanoparticles' concentration. The obtained results for the structural and optical properties show that the PMMA/ZrO 2 /Ag nanocomposites can be used for different medical and industrial applications such as solar cells, diodes, sensors, UV-detectors, etc.
