Abstract
Post-assembly magnetization method can reduce the manufacture and assembly costs of permanent magnet (PM) motors and lower the risk of damage to PM blocks during assembly. The design guidelines and progress of post-assembly magnetization system of a V-type rotor of a 50 kW 8-pole 48-slot interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) are proposed in this paper. The finite element model is established to analyze the strength and configuration of magnetizing field for saturated magnetization. The influence of geometry of the magnetizing device and turns of the magnetizing winding on magnetizing field is analyzed with parametric modeling method. An auxiliary-stator-type magnetizing device is designed to magnetize the V-type rotor after assembly according to the proposed design progress. The simulation results show that the designed magnetizing device can complete the post-assembly magnetization of the V-type rotor.
