Abstract

The location-based services development represents the factor the factor that drove the research in the field of indoor localization. Several technologies, such as WiFi, RFID, radio beacons, are candidates for indoor localization solutions. Usually, they are used together for a better coverage and for a better user experience. However, the main technology for indoor localization is represented by Bluetooth Low Energy radio beacons. It provides a better localization accuracy and a low energy consumption. In this paper, a radio beacon indoor localization solution, based on signal map determined in advance, is evaluated. The paper presents the results regarding the localization accuracy obtained in several scenarios, such as, variation of beacons' transmission power, number of samples per measurement point, and number of beacons.
