Abstract
Effect of TiO2@Ag core@shell nanostructure (NSs) on the luminescence of polymethine dyes (PDs) and its photovoltaic properties was studied. A two-fold increase in the luminescence intensity of PD is observed in the presence of TiO2@Ag NSs. The addition of 0.5 wt% of TiO2@Ag NSs to the TiO2 film leads to an increase in solar cell efficiency by 20% for functionalized dye. An increase in the efficiency of solar cells with PD and TiO2@Ag NSs is the result of growth of sensitization and charge-transport parameters of TiO2 films.
