Abstract

The direct oxidation of alcohols to aldehydes using molecular oxygen (O 2 ) as the terminal oxidant under mild conditions is a highly desirable transformation in organic synthesis due to its atom economy and environmental sustainability. Herein, a nanostructured composite consisting of (ODA) 2 CuBr 4 perovskite quantum dots and graphitic carbon nitride (C 3 N 4 ) is fabricated and characterized to evaluate its catalytic performance. Under visible‐light irradiation, the (ODA) 2 CuBr 4 /C 3 N 4 hybrid demonstrates excellent chemoselectivity in converting various alcohols to the corresponding aldehydes with high to excellent yields. Notably, the reaction is performed at ambient temperature without the need for additional reagents or harsh conditions. The catalyst system efficiently utilizes O 2 from air as the oxidant, offering a green and sustainable synthetic approach. Furthermore, the (ODA) 2 CuBr 4 /C 3 N 4 catalyst exhibits remarkable stability and recyclability, maintaining its catalytic activity with negligible degradation after ten consecutive reaction cycles, highlighting its potential for practical applications.
