Abstract

Graphene oxide has a great potential for use in medicine for creating systems for targeted drug delivery, as well as for creating diagnostic and theranostics tools. This work is devoted to study of biocompatibility of graphene oxide modified with glycine. The identification of the covalent conjugate was carried out by 13С nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, elemental analysis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and infrared spectroscopy. The study of the biocompatibility of the synthesized nanomaterial included the study of hemocompatibility, antioxidant activity, cyto- and genotoxicity, as well as the protective effect with respect to collagen under UV irradiation.
