Abstract
The heteroleptic mer-[Cr(L)(CN) 3 ] (L = tpy, ddpd, dqp) complexes with their C 2v -symmetrical [CrC 3 N 3 ] luminescent chromophores represent the missing links between pseudo-octahedral [CrN 6 ] and [CrC 6 ] units found in their well-known homoleptic parents.
