Abstract
A novel strategy of multi-stage explosion through CaC 2 O 4 decomposition was designed to prepare defect-rich popcorn-like lignin-derived mesoporous carbon cages with 2D/3D structures and interconnected mesoporosity for advanced lithium ion storage.
