Abstract
Abstract The quality of agricultural equipment manufacture and repair in Russia is considered on the basis of the 5M principle: manpower, methods, materials, machinery, measurements. The main factors impairing the competitiveness of equipment are identified: for example, the use of cheap materials, the lack of engineers, and poor monitoring. The influence of the organization of monitoring and the selection of measuring instruments on product quality is shown by means of examples.
