Defect-controlled halogenating properties of lanthanide-doped ceria nanozymes

Abstract
Ce 1− x Ln x O 2− x /2 nanocrystals prepared mechanochemically from CeCl 3 , LnCl 3 , and Na 2 CO 3 show enhanced haloperoxidase activity. ESR and IR spectroscopy revealed the Ln 3+ distribution in the CeO 2 host and the presence of Ce 3+ and O 2 − surface species.
