Abstract
The next generation of wireless technology will provide new consumer and business applications with near realtime connectivity requirements. This will demand the use of hardware and software that allows flexibility, scalability and full use of resources to deliver performance and various functions. Therefore, an in-depth study of the platforms and frameworks available or under development was essential to select the most suitable one for implementing a 5G core network. This paper presents the study and feature comparison between three open-source platforms, Magma, Open5GS and Free5GC, used for the implementation of a 5G core network.
