Abstract

An efficient and robust hydrogen evolution electrocatalyst of Ru nanoparticles embedded in N-doped carbon was obtained by using Bu<sub>4</sub>N[Ru(N)Cl<sub>4</sub>] and Na<sub>4</sub>EDTA as precursors. It exhibits excellent catalytic activity in alkaline solutions and good performance in acidic media.
