The discovery of a vast population of small-scale lobate thrust fault scarps in images returned by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC) has provided evidence that the Moon experienced global-scale tectonics. Efforts to date these small fault scarps indicate a young age, actively forming within the last 50 to 100 Ma.
