Abstract
At present, the progress of wire-mesh-reinforced composite (WMRC) is significant with the development of automobile and aircraft products. The research in the field of WM-reinforced polymer matrix composite (PMC) has been expanded based on the application. This review article summarizes the recent developments of WM-incorporated PMC and their applications. Moreover, the fabrication technique with various types of WM was also introduced, on natural and synthetic fibers. Furthermore, current fabrication techniques and opportunities for the growth of WMRC were proposed as the progressing trend to avoid lightning strike damage of composite in aircraft.
