Abstract

Around the world, the retail industry is drastically changing, because of the development of the Internet. Retailers are growing better approaches to associate with clients and client channels. It is predicted that in the coming years the Internet will be playing a much crucial job to regular day to day existence. Soon we will be living in a world where non-living objects are connected with each other and have computing capabilities, hence creating so-called `smart objects'. This smart component across a wide range of technologies and services is known as the Internet of Things (IoT). Literature shows that retailers are regularly more connectors of advancement, as opposed to innovate themselves. They are centered around making new products, as opposed to developing their services. The idea of service-based advancement is a fairly under searched territory. This paper focuses around how the Internet of Things permits retailers to improve their services in new manners by taking a gander at the key drivers of advancement in the retail business. Based on extensive literature review and experts inputs it can be concluded that the Internet of Things is very extensive tool to enhance innovation in the service-based retail industry. It gives a new innovative method that upgrades the regular shopping experience, by making it all the simpler, fun, intuitive and more customized.
