Abstract

This letter is focused on different kinds of virtual oscillator control (VOC) schemes that can be used to regulate the power inverters. Deadzone oscillator (DZO), Van der Pol oscillator (VdPO), and New-VdPO-based VOC techniques are presented in this work. The output voltage falls as the load increases with the aforementioned control methods, which might be problematic for sensitive equipment that demands a constant voltage. To overcome this limitation, the authors proposed adaptive VOC methods (DZO-Adaptive, VdPO-Adaptive, and New-VdPO-Adaptive) based on fuzzy logic algorithms (FLAs). The proposed New-VdPO-Adaptive-based VOC controller has good voltage regulation and lower total harmonic distortion (THD). The simulation and hardware results of the FLA-based adaptive VOC methods are presented to determine the effectiveness of the proposed control schemes.
