Abstract
By reducing the backbone of the 1,1′-bi-2-naphthol ligands in Shibasaki's complexes into octahydro-1,1′-bi-2-naphthol, highly luminescent lanthanide complexes with amongst the strongest circularly polarized luminescence have been obtained.
