Abstract
The Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the leading technologies of the present era which is in the full swing and will have a remarkable role in the market going forward. With the advancement of intelligence in everything be it a home, vehicle, cities, farming etc., IoT has a great impact and the growth in this field. In this technology the devices that contain sensors, actuators and processors can communicate and help us to work for our day-to-day activities which results in reducing the human effort. IoT is gaining good attention from the researchers as well as from the Industry. This survey paper emphasizes the various aspects of IoT with respect to its architecture, protocols, applications, and the challenges with this technology. Also, a brief comparison has been made between the different protocols being used in IoT.
