Abstract

A reusable water-soluble Pd(OAc)<sub>2</sub>/sulfoxantphos catalyst has been developed for the hydroxycarbonylation of symmetrical and unsymmetrical alkynes with CO/H<sub>2</sub>O to afford the corresponding α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acids in good yields.
