Synergistic Photocatalysis of Acridinium Salts and Pyridine <i>N</i> -Oxides for α-Aminoalkylation with <i>N</i> -Methylsulfonamides

Abstract

This study presents a synergistic photocatalytic method using acridinium salts and pyridine N -oxides for the Giese reaction between N -methylsulfonamides and olefins, which utilizes N -methylsulfonamides as α-aminoalkylating reagents. Notable features of this approach include mild reaction conditions, excellent atom economy, good site selectivity, a broad substrate scope, and the ability to enable postmodification of complex drug fragments.
